Set aside
Set aside PicWay is a duplicate photo cleaner for iPhone that sorts similar photos, duplicate items, and bursts into groups, and you pick which one to keep. Screen captures you go through one by one. Extras are set aside first and stay in your library. When you do delete, you review them, iOS asks to confirm, and they wait in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

What it finds
What does PicWay
clean up?
Each kind gets its own place in Tidy.
-
Similar photos
Shots of the same moment are grouped together. Pick the best one to keep.
-
Duplicate items
Identical photos and videos are found separately. A favorite is picked to keep first; if there’s none, the oldest copy.
-
Bursts
Open a burst and choose the frames you want to keep.
-
Screen captures
Go through screenshots and screen recordings one by one.
How it groups
How does PicWay decide
what’s similar?
Not only exact copies. Shots of the same moment, taken from a slightly different angle or a second apart, count as similar.
| Similar photos | Shots taken one after another, each within 60 seconds of the last and 30 minutes at most in all, then compared by how they look |
|---|---|
| Duplicate items | Photos of the same size whose image details match, or videos with exactly the same length and file size |
| Bursts | The bursts your iPhone took. Bursts of the same scene also show up in Similar photos, never in Duplicate items |
| Which comes first | Similar photos: the shot PicWay rates best. Duplicate items: your favorite, or else the earliest |
| Keeping more than one | Mark each one you want to keep, then tap Keep with the count, like Keep 2 |
Set aside
Does it delete my photos
right away?
No. Extras are set aside first, and they stay in your library. Changed your mind? Tap Put back.
Deleting
What happens when
I delete?
Deleting takes two checks: you review first, then iOS asks you to confirm.
| 1. Set aside | Extras wait here and stay in your library |
|---|---|
| 2. You review | Look through them once more, then tap Continue deleting |
| 3. iOS confirms | The system asks before anything is deleted |
| 4. Recently Deleted | Deleted items can be recovered in Photos for 30 days |
Good to know
What PicWay’s photo cleaner
doesn’t do
-
It doesn’t treat your photos as junk
Nothing is thrown away for you. Every group waits for your choice.
-
It doesn’t upload your photos
Grouping happens on your iPhone, and there’s no account to create.
-
It doesn’t merge copies
In each group, PicWay suggests one to keep, you can pick a different one, and the rest are set aside. If you only want to merge copies, the Duplicates album in Photos does that.
