Before you start
- You need iOS 17.0 or later, on iPhone or iPad.
- Use your own photos, or a test library with some Live Photos, a few screenshots, and a video or two. Please don’t show other people’s private photos.
- Every step below works on the device. Nothing in this demo deletes a photo without a confirmation from iOS.
1. Swipe to organize
- On the Memories tab, open a memory such as On This Day to start a review.
- Swipe right to Keep, left to Set aside, and up to Favorite.
- Show that set-aside photos are still in the library. Nothing is deleted until you review them on the Set aside page and iOS asks you to confirm. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted for 30 days.
What to point out: you decide photo by photo, and deleting always takes a second look.
2. Life photos only
- Open the Photos tab. In the All | Life switch at the top, tap Life.
- Screenshots, screen recordings, animated images, and saved images whose text looks like a receipt, ID, or document are hidden. A bar at the top says how many, for example “12 screenshots and documents hidden”, with Show next to it.
- Switch back to All to show nothing was deleted.
What to point out: it judges from the photo’s own information and the text in saved images. Camera photos are never hidden for their text, and when PicWay isn’t sure, the photo stays in Life.
3. A Live Photo collage that moves
- On the Memories tab, tap Collage, choose a few Live Photos, then tap Add. A collage holds up to 20 photos, or up to 30 in Long strip.
- Choose how it moves: All at once, One by one (needs at least two Live Photos), or Spotlight.
- Tap Export, choose Live Photo, then Save to Photos. Touch and hold it in Photos to play it.
4. Turn a video into a Live Photo
- In the library, touch and hold a video and choose Make Live Photo.
- Drag the selection to the seconds you want (3.9 seconds by default), or tap No Time Limit. You can also change the speed and pick a cover.
- Save it. It goes to the PicWay Conversions album.
5. Compress a video, two levels
- On the Memories tab, tap Compress, pick a video, then tap Compress.
- Standard compression is the default: the change in quality is hard to see. Tap the level on the card to switch to Strong compression, which shrinks it further.
- When it’s done, tap Compare to see both versions side by side. Space is freed only after you delete the original and iOS confirms. Tap Put back to keep the original instead.
Show the comparison on screen and let viewers judge the difference for themselves.
6. Start from the Share menu
- In Apple’s Photos app, select some photos, tap Share, and scroll to Collage (2 to 30 photos: up to 20 in standard ratios, up to 30 in Long strip).
- Select one video and choose Live Photo, or select photos or videos and choose Compress.
- PicWay opens on that screen with your selection ready.
